Lake Conroe, Texas – The City of Montgomery, Texas is partnering with the Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) for the Montgomery Hometown Fireworks Extravaganza following the conclusion of the first day of competition on Friday, October 16. The evening will feature a musical performance by the Kyle Hunt Band and will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display. The TTBC will be held October 16 – 18 at Lake Conroe in Montgomery, Texas.
“The City of Montgomery is very excited about the Hometown Fireworks Extravaganza. The City feels it will be a great kickoff to the eventful weekend,” said Mayor Travis Mabry.
Friday, October 16 is the first day of competition for the world’s top 60 anglers that will be in the field. Fans will be able to follow the action on the lake throughout the day via jumbo-trons on the event stage. In addition, an expansive outdoor exposition area will include activities, displays, giveaways and clinics for fans of all ages. The Montgomery Hometown Fireworks Extravaganza will highlight the evening following the angler weigh-ins.
“The City of Montgomery has really made a great commitment to its residents and to our event,” said Tournament Director Lenny Francoeur. “They recognized an opportunity to get everyone in the community out for a special night and this is an exciting addition to a huge weekend around the lake.”
Tickets for the entire day’s festivities are only $10 and kids 17 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult. Tickets are available on the tournament website, www.toyotatexasbassclassic.com. Proceeds from the TTBC benefit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s youth outdoor recreation programs.
Saturday and Sunday tickets are currently available in advance for $10. Tickets are regularly $20. Texas country music legend Pat Green will headline the performances on Saturday, October 17 along with a concert from Zona Jones. Sunday, October 18 will be the final round of the TTBC and will feature the final weigh-in, crowning of a professional angler as world champion and concerts by Julianne Hough and Josh Turner.
The Toyota Texas Bass Classic is sanctioned by the Professional Anglers Association with technical assistance and support from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Inland Fisheries Division. Title sponsor for the event is Toyota. Dick’s Sporting Goods is the official sporting goods provider. The Saturday Concert is presented by Evan Williams, the official bourbon of the TTBC. MillerCoors is the official beer. 100.3 KILT and SportsRadio 610 are the official radio partners. Phoenix Boats is the official boat of the TTBC. Waste Management is the official trash and recycling partner. The tournament will be held on Buffalo Springs, a planned development in the City of Montgomery.
