Day One Tournament Recap
50 anglers competed in day one of the Toyota Texas Bass Classic on Lake Conroe. A cold front coming in from the Rockies hit the area Thursday night and led to colder temperatures on Friday. Anglers battled winds gusting up to 25-30 mph throughout the day. However, the weather did not keep the fish from biting as Keith Combs bagged the largest single catch in the event’s three-year history on Lake Conroe, a 10 lb. 8 oz. bass. Combs holds a 1 lb. 12 oz. lead over last year’s runner-up Mike Iaconelli.
