Day Two Tournament Recap
LAKE CONROE, Texas – Keith Combs of Huntington, TX followed up his record-setting day one with the biggest five-bass bag of day two to take a 4 lb. lead over Mike Iaconelli of Pittsgrove, NJ. The elite field of 50 anglers was cut down to the top-10 (the “Tundra Ten”) following Saturday’s action. The battle for the top appears to be a two-man race between Combs and Iaconelli, who both surpassed the largest three-day cumulative weight in just the first two days.
Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series Angler of the Year Todd Auten of Lake Wylie, SC hauled in 24 lb. 4 oz. Saturday bag to move into third place. Defending champion Brian Snowden of Reeds Spring, MO (fifth-place) has continued his success on Lake Conroe by advancing to the final day.
Mark Rose of Marion, AR held onto the 10th place by only one pound over Takahiro Omori of Emory, TX to grab the last spot in the Sunday field.
The 2011 Toyota Texas Bass Classic champion will win $100,000 and a new Legend boat powered by Evinrude.
